3rd grade girls and boys and 4th grade girls will play on 9 foot goals
No press in 3rd grade girls and boys and 4th grade girls divisions.
1. KSHSAA rules apply unless otherwise stated.
2. Teams play twenty-minute halves with running clock until last 2 minutes of each half, unless a team has a 15 point lead, in which case the clock will continue to run. The clock will not run during timeouts or for injuries.
3. Four timeouts per team per game. Timeouts will not carry over to overtime.
4. Overtime will be two minutes with one timeout per team. If there is still a tie following the overtime teams will go to a free-throw shoot-out. The 10 players on the court at the end of overtime will each shoot a free-throw, beginning with the visiting team, then alternating shots. Best-out-of-five wins. If tied, the teams shoot again.
5. No full-court press or pressure by a team leading by 15 or more points. No press for 3rd grade girls or boys and 4th grade girls teams.
6. The team listed first will be the home team. If possible, please bring two sets of jerseys in case of color conflicts. The home team should use the bench to the right of the scorer’s table as you face the floor.
7. Teams not having a full five-player roster at scheduled game time will forfeit the game.
8. Intermediate size ball will be used except for 3rd grade girls, 4th grade girls, and 3rd grade boys games which will use the 27.5 ball. Goals will be 9 foot goals for the 3rd grade girls and 3rd grade boys, and 4th grade girls.
9. Plan on a four minute warm-up before the game with a three minute half-time. Warm-ups will be for team-members only. Practice balls will not be provided. The WBA reserves the right to waive warm-ups and/or shorten halftime in order to stay on schedule.
10. Tie-breakers will be 1st) record in pool, 2nd) head-to-head, 3rd) fewest total points allowed, 4th) coin toss.
11. The coaching box will be used. Coaches must remain in the box when giving instructions to players. If a technical is called on the coach, the privilege of the box is then lost for the rest of the game. A coach will have to remain seated and quiet for the remainder of the game. A second technical in any other game will result in expulsion from the tournament.
12. Any player receiving a behavior technical will not be able to play any more in that game. A second intentional technical in any other game will result in expulsion from the tournament.
13. Each team may be asked to provide either a book-keeper or clock person for each game. Please report in at least 5 minutes before scheduled game time.
14. Certified officials will be used for all games.
15. Awards will be given for first and second place in each division (first-place-only if a division has 3 teams or less). Third place will also be given for divisions with 6 or more teams.
